The BYMC Identity

What makes us different from anybody else our age?  We're kids all the same - inquisitive eyes primed more to learn, less to lead.  So what makes us play concerts, to try to make an impact on our community?

Honestly, I doubt many of us know.  I certainly didn't, and perhaps I still don't.  Is it a hidden conviction, an inexplicable want to change our community, to change the world?  Is it a sense of compassion, a subconsious inclination to help those in need?

I believe that, yes, it is both of those things.  But I also believe that the desire to learn new things, to travel uncharted territories, is what pushes us.  The burning desire to take in the world.  The desire that makes us children, more than in body, but also in soul.  Music is our gateway to territories uncharted still - the vessel for our hidden conviction, for our sense of compassion, and for our aspiration to learn.  And we love music.

So not only do we change the world.  Not only do we help those in need, not only do we learn so much...

We have so much fun doing it.  That's what I believe.

BYMC is about giving, yes. Giving to people with less than us. Giving to people in need. But at the same time there is more to it than that. BYMC is about teamwork and togetherness, because doing what we love together, and trying our best together, brings us together.

Ever since I became a part of BYMC, the cohesiveness of the group has really stayed with me. I realized that because we were all working our hardest towards the same goal, doing the same things that we all loved to do, we could truly bond as a group. BYMC is about fighting the good fight, but it is also about hard work and teamwork.
